History

Founded in 1933 as the Marietta Junior Welfare League, the Junior League of Cobb-Marietta (JLCM) is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. In 1976, the Marietta Junior Welfare League affiliated with the Association of Junior Leagues International (AJLI), broadening the impact of the organization

During decades of service to the community, JLCM has founded and supported many community projects, including the Cobb County Youth Museum, Center for Children and Young Adults, Gate City Nursery and Sheltering Arms Daycare.

Each year, we continue the volunteer education of our existing members, along with training new members to be effective community and civic leaders promoting voluntarism. With a focus on the children and families of Cobb County, our members all strive to be catalyst for community change, leaving a legacy of service.

We are committed to building a better community. Our well-trained members come alongside our community partners to provide assistance in meeting the ever changing needs of Cobb County. We invite you to become a part of this dynamic group of women as we continue our legacy of commitment and service to our community.
